Status of networks in Arkansas
Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission Rule 33 provides for MCO's to offer physician/hospital/medical provider networks that agree to discounted pricing on workers' comp medical treatment.

There are various discount networks available to Arkansas employers, but they can vary greatly in the number of providers, geographical distribution and size of discounts. A large multi-specialty network can substantially increase an employer's savings in Arkansas workers' comp.

Systemedic and True Blue PPO
Through Systemedic's medical bill review program, employers, TPA's and carriers are enjoying substantial increased savings by utilizing the USAble True Blue PPO.

USAble, a wholly owned subsidiary of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is the state's largest PPO offering workers' compensation discounts. It covers all 75 counties with choices of 90+ hospitals in Arkansas and adjoining states, and includes over 6,000 medical providers. USAble is the MCO of choice of over 15,000 Arkansas employers, comprising 74% of the states workers.

If employers select the USAble MCO, they are allowed to "carve out" their own customized network within the larger PPO provider group. USAble charges a fee of 25% of any additional savings after the Arkansas fee schedule re-pricing and nurse review.
